MKE Week 1 – There is Hope

My first week has been a mixture of apprehension, confusion and probably being a bit overwhelmed.

When I first downloaded all the PDFs and everything that was involved, it really took me back a few steps. There seemed to be so much to take in all at once.

However, it didn’t take long for me to realise that maybe the best way for me was to take small little bites rather than try to comprehend everything at once. Take it one step, one day at a time, or even one part of the day at a time.

After listening to the first live webinar, things settled down, I’d say a lot. I started to get a better understanding of the process and a bit more clarity around what I had to commit to.

I do feel as though something is being seeded, and I’m certainly not saying it has taken root yet because I don’t think it has. But the signs are there. The signs are definitely there. I know I’m starting to think and question lots of things.

I’m a little bit pleased with myself, I suppose, if I’m allowed to be, that sitting still for 15 minutes, for some reason, I’ve accomplished that. I actually look forward to it and it’s enjoyable. When I finish, I feel a relief. I let my mind review, or try to keep reviewing, everything I’ve picked up from the reading and so forth. So yeah, that’s a little win.

I’m also becoming more aware of my own thoughts through that process. Even when I’m conscious through the day, I’m more aware, where I suppose I wasn’t fully aware most of the time before.

I’m still struggling to get clarity on my DMP. I’ve just got some feedback now, and it was good to get that feedback. I know a direction I can go. I still think that is the hardest part of the whole thing, or the hardest part to get my head around.

This could possibly be one of the most intense training, coaching and collaboration experiences I’ve done, probably ever.

I’m grateful for the opportunity and I’m looking forward to seeing how working with the group comes together. For the moment, I’m just taking it one day at a time and seeing where this will take me. But I’ve got a great feeling about the whole process.

One thing I did find was that the lesson was very intense. It still is, even though I’ve read it several times.

But Og Mandino’s book — jeez, everything jumped out at me when I was reading that. I really enjoyed it. There’s a positive, positive feeling anyway.
