The Mind Before the Matter
What if we’re asking “How?” far too soon?
That question has stayed with during Week 2 of the Master Key Experience.
This week’s focus was the Law of Dual Thought it’s the idea that thoughts are causes and conditions are effects.
We tend to look at the result first. We see what exists and immediately ask how to change it.
But a flower doesn’t appear before the seed is planted.
The cause comes first.
So perhaps the first question isn’t How?
Perhaps it’s:
What do I actually want to create?
And only then:
How?
This connected strongly with my study of Charles Haanel and Og Mandino.
Haanel places thought at the centre of creation. Og Mandino’s Scroll I adds another important piece: repetition.
I’m reading the same scroll for 30 days, which has made me think about what we repeatedly impress upon the mind.
Not every thought deserves to become a belief.
Not every familiar thought is a true thought or is beneficial to us.
This is where becoming the observer becomes so important. Instead of automatically following every thought, we can begin to notice what we’re thinking, believing and giving our attention to.
It also changes how I think about being the architect of our lives.
An architect doesn’t begin with the bricks. There is a vision first.
The building exists as an idea before it exists as a structure.
Perhaps we don’t always need to know the entire method before allowing ourselves to hold the vision. Becoming too focused on how something will happen can sometimes limit what we’re willing to imagine.
The vision first. The method follows.
This week’s ideas seem to connect beautifully:
Thought creates the cause.
Belief gives it direction.
Repetition reinforces it.
Action gives it movement.
Results reveal the effect.
The cause comes before the condition.
The seed comes before the harvest.
And the blueprint comes before the building.
Week 2 has left me with one question worth carrying forward:
What am I choosing to think, believe and create?
Maybe the mind really does come before the matter.

Hi Miriam! Looking forward to seeing how you answer your question!
As you progress Miriam you won’t even need to worry about the “how’.
As to your eloquently written “Method”
Don’t forget the FEELING is the POWER! You are going to crush this, thanks for sharing!
Miriam you hit the nail on the head. Great blog so elligantly stated.
